(title shamefully stolen from someone else)
So it’s NO to SOPA day – I realise a lot of people in the UK and Europe won’t know (or care) what SOPA is, but really, you should care at least!
SOPA allows the US government the ability to close down or censor websites *just on an accusation* – there doesn’t need to be any hard proof of <whatever the infringement is meant to be> – just the *accusation*.
There’s a whole bunch of websites who have “gone black” today to show their opposition to SOPA, including Wikipedia, Reddit, Google (not quite in the same way) and many others. Here’s a list of who’s doing what: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2399009,00.asp
I’m not claiming to have looked in to the whole deal behind SOPA as it doesn’t affect us in the UK as much as those in the US, but it’s not good none-the-less. Here’s Wikipedia’s page (the only one still active) giving more information about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SOPA_initiative/Learn_more
Hospital tests – we’ve pretty much all had at least one at some time in history. Those few people who haven’t had one are the lucky ones, the ones who’s bodies were engineered perfectly and don’t have any faults.
But what if you’re forced to have more than one, or have the same test more than once. What’s it really like to live with, and deal with, something like that? Read more…
So I keep trying to write this post, and keep getting no-where. Actually that’s a blatant lie, I keep trying to write *other* posts, but time has marched on, and some of them aren’t relevant to the continuation of the human race any longer.
Anyway, continuing on… there WILL be some new blog posts soon. Hell, there may even be one or more later today!
Keep tuned, or reading, or watching, or whatever it is you’re doing, and I’ll post something soon!
Internet dating eh?
Come on, be honest now; we’ve all at least dabbled in internet, or online, dating at some point in time. Hell, everyone who’s reading this knows how to use a browser and probably has a Facebook, MSN, AIM, Google, Hotmail and a host of other accounts. All of them have online dating sites connected. We’d be lying if we said we’d never…

Following on from my defection from Symbian to Android last year, I’ve now bought another, new, shiny, stunning, Android powered smartphone; namely the Samsung Galaxy S II (2).
Those of you caring to keep up with what I occasionally remember to write on here will know that my previous phone was the Samsung Galaxy S; the renowned king of Android phones in 2010. Yes, it had it’s shortcomings, namely an ability to “lag” and a crap GPS antenna; but both those could be overcome and were by the amazing community that’s around the Android movement. The Galaxy S really is a stunning phone when you spend half an hour or so playing with it’s settings to get the best out of it.

This post is coming to you from my new phone. As many of you will know, I’ve been a Symbian phone user for a very long time now, ranging from Series 60, UIQ, S60 V3 through to S60 v5 and Symbian^1. It’s fair to say I know the world of Symbian phones inside out, having had and used many many different models over they years. My latest phone has been the excellent yet under-developed and under marketed Samsung i8910, otherwise known as the Omnia HD. Its over a year old now, having been announced at WMC (World Mobile Congress) 2009, but the hardware was so high quality that it can still cut the mustard against the best of the 2010 spec.phones available today. And a healthy modding scene on the interwebs has seen some truly amazing new firmwares being produced to keep the phone up-to-date.

In case you’ve all been living under a rock for the last few days, following last Sunday’s Formula 1 Grand Prix at Hockenheim, Ferrari have been accused of cheating by issuing a direct team order which “interfered with the outcome of the race.” Naturally Ferrari then did all they could to deny having issued this order; alas they’ve now as-good-as admitted it!
