The BBC cover my operation!

In this Tuesday’s episode of Holby City, one of the story lines featured a laproscopic (keyhole) Crohns operation which had to be swapped to being a full right hemicolectomy (fully invasive, big cut, big scar etc).

Right hemi-what you say?

Right Hemicolectomy – that’s the surgery I had last Thursday. Essentially what it entails is keyhole (or not) surgery to disect and rejoin parts of the intestine, usually chopping out a chunk of small intestine and re-joining it just before the connection into the large intestine.
