Nokia launch the N8 – finally a “top end” Symbian handset

So, this morning Nokia finally got round to launching the N8, possibly *the* most leaked Nokia handset in history. However, they’ve been forced to admit that the OS it runs (Symbian^3) isn’t ready, so the phone won’t actually be available until Q3 this year. (that’ll be September then) Read more…

Satio vs Omnia HD

Some of you may know I’m a great fan and advocate of the Samsung Omnia HD (i8910) smartphone. It’s got one of the most advanced hardware platforms, coupled with the largest, brightest AMOLED capacitive touch screen on any mobile device. Oh, and it’s got a stonkingly good 8 megapixel camera thrown in too!

However, SonyEricsson have recently released the Satio – their latest touchscreen smartphone, featuring a similar hardware spec to the Omnia HD and running essentially the same software. The killer though is that SonyEricsson have included a whopping 12 megapixel camera module.
